In my last post on TM I spoke about the objects available to integrate with EM from TM. Now let's check out what transportation related roles are available for these objects in SAP EM.
SAP EM is used to provide end-to-end visibility into the status of orders from order entry through to final delivery.
The following roles in the SAP TM process have the following visibility available to them through SAP EM:
Shipper or Ordering Party
1) Order Taking Visibility
Based on a single consignment order
Visibility from order entry to start of execution
2) Order Execution Visibility
Based on a single shipment
Visibility from start of execution to POD
Transportation Dispatcher
1) Order Taking Visibility
Based on a single consignment order
Visibility from order entry to start of execution
2) Order Execution Visibility
Based on a single shipment
Visibility from start of execution to POD
3) Resource Tracking Visibility
Based on a single resource (container, truck, rail-car)
Visibility from final selection of resource to assignment of business object in SAP Transportation Management
4) Tendering Visibility
Based on one or more tendering requests
Visibility from first submittal of tender request(s) to carrier(s) in SAP Transportation Management
Consignee
1) Order Execution Visibility
Based on a single shipment
Visibility from start of execution to POD
